Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 September 2026
This policy explains what information PDF to image (https://pdf-2s.com, "the Site", "we") does and does not collect when you use it, and what your choices are. It is written to describe the Site as it actually behaves rather than as a generic template.
The short version
The PDF files you convert are never sent to us. All conversion happens inside your own browser, so we have no copy of your documents, no ability to read them, and nothing to delete. We do receive ordinary web server logs when you load a page, and we serve third-party advertising which uses cookies.
Files you convert
When you select a PDF, your browser reads the file into its own memory and passes it to PDFium, a PDF rendering engine compiled to WebAssembly that runs locally as part of the page. Each page is drawn on an off-screen canvas, encoded by your browser's built-in image encoder, and assembled into a ZIP archive in memory. That archive is then handed to your browser as a download.
At no point in that process is the file, any page of it, or any derived image transmitted to this Site or to any third party. There is no upload endpoint. Once the page has finished loading you can disconnect from the network entirely and the converter will continue to work, which is the simplest way to verify this for yourself.
Because we never receive your files, we cannot provide, restore, or delete them, and they are not covered by any retention period.
Server logs
Like effectively every website, our hosting infrastructure records a log entry each time a page or asset is requested. A typical entry contains your IP address, the date and time, the URL requested, the HTTP status code, your browser's user agent string, and the referring page if one was sent.
We use these logs only to operate the Site: diagnosing errors, understanding load, and identifying abuse. We do not use them to build profiles of individual visitors and we do not sell or share them. They are retained for a limited period and then discarded in the ordinary course of server operation.
Cookies and local storage
The Site itself sets one cookie:
- i18n_pref_locale — stores the display language you select in the language switcher, so that your choice persists as you move between pages. It contains only a language code such as
en,jaorzh, and nothing that identifies you.
Your browser may also cache the WebAssembly module and other static assets. That is ordinary browser caching and is what makes repeat visits fast; it is not something we can read.
Additional cookies are set by our advertising provider, described below.
Advertising
This Site is funded by advertising, which is what allows the converter to be free and unlimited. We use Google AdSense to serve those advertisements.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve advertisements based on your prior visits to this Site and to other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve advertisements to you based on your visits to this Site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
- More detail on how Google uses information from sites that use its services is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Advertising is served in the page surrounding the converter. It has no access to the contents of the PDF you are converting, because those contents exist only in the page's own memory and are never published to the document in a readable form or transmitted anywhere.
Information we do not collect
To be explicit, the Site does not:
- receive, store or process your PDF files or the images produced from them;
- offer accounts, logins or user profiles, so it holds no credentials;
- take payments, so it holds no billing or card information;
- ask for your name, postal address or telephone number;
- send marketing email.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive whatever you put in that message, including your email address, and we keep it for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Please do not attach the PDF you are having trouble with — a description of the problem is enough, and sending us the file would undermine the whole point of the Site.
Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Since the Site has no accounts and no forms, there is no mechanism by which a child could submit personal information to us.
External links
Some pages link to external sites, such as the advertising opt-out pages listed above. We have no control over those sites and this policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, including the language cookie described above; the Site will continue to function, it will simply fall back to your browser's language preference. You can use the opt-out links in the Advertising section to limit personalised advertising. You can also use the converter with your network disconnected after the page has loaded, in which case no further requests reach us at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes to how we handle information will be reflected here before they take effect.
